Scouting Report

One thing that's quickly evident about Esposito is that he can spin on anyone's fastball. He handles the ball high and tight and should be able to handle the fastball at the professional level. He has a smooth weight transfer from his back leg and uses his hands very well. His quick bat allows him to show some good pop to right center field as well.

Esposito figures to be an average power bat at the professional level, but his game will mostly be about hitting line drives to the gaps. That's how his swing path is designed. Whether he learns to lift the ball a bit more in time remains to be seen. But, he's a potential .280, 20 home run type bat as it stands right now if his pitch recognition continues to progress.

Position, however, is a big question mark for Esposito. Third base is his most logical long term home given his size, plus arm strength and good hands. He might be tried in the middle infield as there are lingering doubts as to whether his power profiles at a corner position. But, although his speed and agility are currently above average, that may not be the case as his body continues to mature.
