Playoff Predictions: Rangers/Rays

2011 figures to be a postseason loaded with outstanding playoff matchups. There are teams with loaded pitching staffs, powerful offenses, and deep bullpens. There are also teams with perhaps less talent that are riding a tremendous wave of momentum. With that said, predictions need to be made. Here's a look at the ALDS matchup between the Rangers and Rays.

Rays (5 Games)

If you took momentum out of the equation, this is probably the Rangers' series for the taking. But, how can you discount the way Tampa Bay ended their season?

This is a tremendous battle of pitching against a dynamic offense. When push comes to shove, I see the Rays pitching winning out coupled with some timely hitting from guys like Evan Longoria, Matt Joyce, and B.J. Upton. It will likely go the distance in a lot of tight games, but expect the Rays momentum to carry them through.
