Playoff Predictions: Phillies/Cardinals

2011 figures to be a postseason loaded with outstanding playoff matchups. There are teams with loaded pitching staffs, powerful offenses, and deep bullpens. There are also teams with perhaps less talent that are riding a tremendous wave of momentum. With that said, predictions need to be made. Here's a look at the NLDS matchup between the Phillies and Cardinals.

With all due respect to the Cardinals, the Phillies were built for this format.

The Cardinals come in with a great deal of momentum and all of these games will likely be closely contested. But, the Phillies have the advantages in just about every category.

The games will probably be low scoring but look for the Phillies to make quick work of an outgunned Cardinals squad.
