Starting pitchers are perhaps the biggest factor in whether a team succeeds in the postseason. For that reason, some of the most detailed scouting reports are compiled on these opposing starters. Here’s a look at what playoff opponents will see from Tigers' starter, Doug Fister.

Fastball: 88-92 MPH
Slider: 84-87 MPH
Curveball: 74-77 MPH
Changeup: 81-84 MPH

The Skinny: Nothing in terms of pure velocity jumps off the page when it comes to Doug Fister. But, he produces outstanding movement and late hop on his fastball, making him a tougher at-bat than you’d expect. He also locates his sharp slider and curveball exceptionally well, and sprinkles in a quality changeup.

He’s a complete pitcher who relies on command and deception.
