Notes

-Rough loss for the Topes. Mike Parisi pitched extremely well, going 7 scoreless to reduce his ERA to 2.25. Ronald Belisario pitched a scoreless 8th, but Josh Wall, who was lights out last night, allowed back to back doubles with 2 outs to blow the lead. He then walked a pair of batters who came in on a double surrendered by Ryan Tucker. Fedex went 1 for 2 to lift his average up to .305. SVS singled and walked.

-Nathan Eovaldi, who made his first real start since being pulled after an inning his last two times out, allowed 7 hits and 4 runs in 4 innings. Griff Erickson and Anthony Jackson had two hits a piece but the team went just 1 for 3 with RISP and left only 1 runner on base. They did amass 7 hits, but no walks.

-Rancho put up half a dozen, but the pitching staff surrendered 11 as the Quakes lost their second straight. Zach Lee allowed a first inning run, a second inning homer and 5 in the 4th to take the loss. In his last 3 starts, Lee has allowed 14 earned runs and 5 homers. Jordan Roberts and Greg Wilborn pitched well in relief, but Steve Smith and Juan Rodriguez allowed a pair of runs a piece in the 8th and 9th innings. Joe Pederson returned to the lineup and singled once in 5 at bats. Scott Wingo and Brian Cavazos-Galvez, just demoted from Double A, had a pair of singles each. Chris O'Brien had a double and a triple. -Jarret Martin bounced back nicely from his previous start, in which he allowed 7 runs in 5 innings, by going 7 shutout innings and allowing just 2 hits. Eric Eadington struck out a pair in relief and Matt Shelton allowed a solo home run. Joe Winker fell a triple shy of the cycle, while Jesus Arredondo singled three times and stole a pair of bases. Scott Schebler and Noel Cuevas each had a pair of hits, including a double.
