After defeating the Pensacola Blue Wahoos 4-1 in the resumption of Thursday's suspended game and a loss by the Montgomery Biscuits, the BayBears clinched the first half of the division before the completion of their 3-2 loss to the Blue Wahoos in the originally scheduled Friday night game.
Righty Bryan Woodall earned the win for Mobile after starting the resumed game and holding Pensacola scoreless over 2.2 innings. RHP Evan Marshall recorded his 14th save of the season with a scoreless outing in the ninth inning, preserving the 4-1 win.
In the second game, Pensacola took a 2-0 lead in the second inning and added a third run in the third frame. The BayBears would make it a one-run game in the top of the sixth inning when Dan Kaczrowski drove home Marc Krauss and Matt Davidson with single to left.
Mobile would not overcome the one-run deficit, as Brett Lorin was tabbed with the loss, allowing all three Pensacola runs on six hits over 4.2 innings. J.C. Sulbaran was credited with the win, holding the BayBears to one run on three hits over 5.1 innings.
