Hoying finished his winterball season on Sunday

The winterball circuits in Venezuela, Puerto Rico, and Mexico all completed their respective regular seasons on Sunday. Lone Star Dugout takes a look at all of the day's winterball action in the Texas Rangers' system.

Dominican Winter League


Speedy infielder Leury Garcia entered as a pinch-runner in the ninth inning of the Aguilas' 4-3 victory on Sunday. He didn't have a plate appearance.



Venezuelan Winter League


After going 1-for-4 on Sunday, Aragua third baseman Yangervis Solarte (.301/.365/.409) has hit safely in 11 of his last 12 games.

Lara second baseman Guilder Rodriguez (.269/.344/.327), getting his second start in as many days, was 1-for-4 with a double (his first) and an RBI. Also for the second straight day, Rodriguez stole a base and was caught once.

The LVBP's regular season concluded on Sunday.



Mexican Pacific League


The Mexican Winter League's regular season also finished on Sunday. Algodoneros de Guasave catcher Jose Felix played the first eight innings and went 1-for-2 with a double, a hit-by pitch, and an RBI.

The 24-year-old Felix appeared in 31 games during the regular season, going 31-for-94 with nine doubles. He drew two walks and whiffed 11 times.



Puerto Rican Winter League


Ponce defeated Mayaguez, 6-4, on the final day of the Puerto Rican Winter League's regular season. But with a 17-23 record, Ponce will not be advancing to the circuit's postseason.

Appearing in his final game of the winter, left fielder Jared Hoying (.236/.306/.327 in 19 games) went 1-for-4 with an RBI and three strikeouts. Overall, Hoying was 13-for-55 with a double and two triples to go along with five walks and 10 strikeouts. He stole three bases in six attempts.

Catcher Kevin Torres, who batted ninth, was hitless in three at-bats. The 22-year-old backstop finished his winter by going 4-for-35 (.114) with a double in 16 contests. He struck out 11 times without drawing a walk.

Sidearming lefty Alexander Claudio (5.18 ERA/.309 BAA) allowed a run on three hits in 1.2 innings, striking out three. He didn't walk a batter.

Claudio had the following stat-line in 17 appearances (two starts) this season––24.1 ip, 29 h, 14 er, 5 bb, 17 k.



Australian Baseball League


Brisbane's Hirotoshi Onaka (.303/.421/.371) extended his hitting streak to seven games by going 2-for-3 with a double, his sixth, and a stolen base, also his sixth.

During his current seven-game hitting streak, the Japan native is 10-for-22 at the plate.

Adelaide Bite DH Gabriel Suarez saw his batting average drop to .192 after he went hitless in three at-bats on Sunday.
