Coming off back problems last season, the left-fielder says he has had the same off-season routine as in past years. Holliday insisted that he would never ask out of the lineup – that would be the decision of the manager.

It turns out that the left-handed starting pitcher has the same outlook about his health as many of us do. “We’ll see in April,” Garcia said. I was not particularly encouraged.

He does not want to be distracted by contract talk during the season, the reason he cut off talks last fall until the post-season concluded.
